You’re invited to re-live the struggle and adventure of Odysseus to return to his homeland after the fall of Troy.  Learn about the sacking of the city after the clever stratagem of the wooden horse, the divine anger driving his ship off course, and the years he spent marooned without hope of return on the island of Calypso. 

In Odysseus, we find the Greek ideal of manhood– of cunning, of resourcefulness, and of reason and calculation– joined to perseverance, fidelity, and virtue.  

The adventure starts with decadent “suitors” depleting his estate, threatening his son, and harassing his wife in his absence.  It takes us through episodes with the lotus eaters, the cyclops, the sirens, Helios, the sun god and a descent into the realm of the dead.  Along the way we see the Greek conception of human life, the roles of gods and men, and the worldview which has so influenced western thought and understanding.
